Please accept my apology by mystichuntress Please accept my apology by mystichuntress
It's 3D so kind of hard for me to take a photo of.

I made this as an apology gift for someone. I had to think about what I did with every fold I made, so you can't say I haven't thought about what I've done. I hope they like it.

The book I used was The Fifth Elephant by Terry Pratchet.

I have more bookart coming up have a look in my gallery for more :)

Edit: I got the idea from Isaac Salazar - type his name into Google Images. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

Here's the refolded version: [link]

The book had a weak spine so the school library was throwing it out..

Just cuts along the pages on the sides so I can fold them in. But I didn't cut any words or sections out. So if I want to, I can unfold and read the book again :)

So...What happens with the book after you unfold it from whatever design you did?:o It's pretty awesome, that's for sure

I don't unfold it. That's the problem with book art - you can't read the book again. Unless you unfold it.

If I were to unfold it, the pages would just be very worn out. There may be some cuts or tears, but it's still readable.

It was the last part that was hard to do. This kind of stuff gets easier after a while (thankfully). One of my previous ones, "Lily" was a lot harder.

Folding the last 100 or so pages. The book begins to bend because it's basically twice as thick as it originally was. Not to mention that the last letter was "y" and in both cases, I had trouble with them.

You should try it :)

I figured the "s" would be the most difficult actually, but I can see how the book bending and trying to keep the "y"s shape would have been tricky. I don't know where you got the idea for this, but it is damn creative. :iconbowplz:

The thought of trying this makes me shiver, way too tedious for me, I would lose my mind.

Oh, oops, did I forget to put it into the description?
What lead me to bookart was when I saw a pumpkin/apple thing carved from a book at my school library. (Coincidentally, it was made by the sister of the person I'm giving it to) I asked one of the librarians and they said to type in "book art" into Google, you'll get lots of stuff.
I got the idea from Isaac Salazar - type his name into Google Images.
